Graduation Requirements

A-G are subject requirements consisting of 15 yearlong college preparatory courses established by the University of California. These are the minimum required high school courses students must complete in order to be eligible to apply to the University of California (UC)/California State University (CSU).


BHUSD policy aligns high school graduation and the A-G requirements to ensure that all students take college preparatory courses and have the option of applying to a wide range of colleges and universities. Students must meet these requirements with a grade of "D" or better in order to earn a high school diploma. To be UC/CSU eligible, students must complete these courses with a grade of "C" or better. Please be advised that a final grade of "F" in a course required for graduation must be retaken before the end of 12th grade.

BHUSD’s high school graduation requirements are aligned to meet the minimum A-G requirements however, there are slight differences. Please see table below:

Directly contact your teacher(s) to discuss and plan
 
Step 2.
Go to Period 7 teacher office hours for individualized support (Mondays-Thursdays) and
free tutoring during lunch: Lunch Tutoring Schedule
 
Step 3.
After completing Steps 1 and 2, see your counselor for support
 
Step 4.
Stay up-to-date through Aeries:
