11th Grade Course- Biotechnology

MSA's 11th Grade technical course Biotechnology is a UC approved Lab Science course focusing on lab skills with medical applications.  It is the study and manipulation of living things or their component molecules, cells, tissues, or organs, with an emphasis on lab skills.  Amgen provides reagents for students to work with recombinant DNA (rDNA) technology and polymerase chain reaction (PCR).  In addition students complete labs in Bioinformatics, ELISA, Culture & Sensitivity, vaccines using recombinant DNA, genetics using gel electrophoresis and much more.
