Born in Iran and raised in Los Angeles, I completed my undergraduate and graduate studies at UCLA where I earned a B.A in English, a teaching credential, CLAD certification, and an M.Ed. I began my teaching career at Palisades High School in 1994, and in 1995, I embarked on a most gratifying journey at Beverly Hills High School where I've taught freshman, sophomore, and junior English, reading enrichment classes, social studies, and all levels of English language learners.

I believe in a highly structured and disciplined learning environment in which there is a true appreciation for diversity, respect for the individual, and a quest for knowledge and enlightenment through reading, critical thinking, discussion, and debate. I feel fortunate to be in a profession in which I can not only teach but learn from others and most importantly, have an opportunity to dispense kindness every day.
