Mrs. K. Moses
I graduated from UCLA summa cum laude with a degree in Spanish Literature and Linguistics. I have two masters worth of post graduate work, mainly focused on teaching English and how the brain learns. I taught pre-school while I was in college, then adult school English Learners (ESL) and this is my 15th year at the high school after teaching in SMMUSD.
As English Language Coordinator it is my job to advocate for and monitor students' English Proficiency growth. I am very passionate about both of these and work to make sure we are doing our best for our English Learners.
The California Department of Education has mandated that ELs have Designated EL (in a class just for them) and Integrated EL, which is the support and use of the ELD standards and language goals in all areas of content.
Please refer to this page for more info on the EL Program.
