PSAT/sat
The PSAT’s are administered once a year, generally in October. For the 2008/2009 school year the PSAT will be administered on Saturday, October 18, 2008. The PSAT’s are generally administered to Sophomores and Juniors in High School. The PSAT/NMSQT can aid students, parents, and counselors in several ways. Many students who plan to go to colleges requiring entrance examinations will find the PSAT/NMSQT a realistic preview of the type of questions and format which will be used in these entrance examinations. Secondly, since it is so similar in form and content to the Scholastic Aptitude Test, it is possible to make a fairly good prediction of one's score on the SAT. With the indication of your possible SAT score, your grade point average, and the subject matter you will have completed by the time of your graduation, you and your counselor can begin to make some realistic decisions regarding college choice in the latter part of the junior year, rather than waiting until a busy senior year. Thirdly, the PSQT/NMSQT is extremely important to those students who will seek scholarship aid in financing their college education, but this is only applicable to 11th grade students.

If you have any other questions regarding the PSAT test you may contact Kathryn Marks at extension 8346
